# What is TraderOS?

> TraderOS is an AI trading workspace at traderos.ai. What it does, which markets it covers, what it costs to use, and what it will not do.

**TraderOS is an AI trading workspace.** You ask an Agent in plain words, and it answers from stored market data: key levels, dealer gamma exposure (GEX), options flow, scanners, calendars and news. It also builds your daily trading plan and backtests your strategy ideas. Every number comes with its source and its age.

TraderOS is the product at [traderos.ai](https://traderos.ai). This site, docs.traderos.ai, is its documentation. Other products use similar names, so check the address.

## Common questions

> **What can TraderOS do?**
>
> It prepares your session (levels, GEX, catalysts, news), analyses markets and options, runs historical studies such as opening range, gap and ATR, and turns a setup you describe in words into a backtest and shows where it fails. See [What the Agent can do](https://docs.traderos.ai/agent/what-the-agent-can-do.md).

> **Which markets does it cover?**
>
> US stocks and ETFs, and CME futures, with options chains and GEX levels for many of them. [Data coverage and freshness](https://docs.traderos.ai/data/coverage.md) lists what is held, how far back it goes and how it is labelled.

> **Where do the numbers come from?**
>
> From market data TraderOS stores, not from the web at the moment you ask. Each figure says where it is from, when it was captured and how old it is, and a gap is reported, never guessed. See [How TraderOS handles trust](https://docs.traderos.ai/trust.md).

> **Does TraderOS give investment advice or place trades?**
>
> No. It is analysis, not investment advice, and it never places orders. You decide, and you size your own risk.

> **How do I backtest a trading strategy with it?**
>
> Describe the setup in words. The Agent shows it as an explicit specification, runs the backtest on stored history, and explains where the strategy fails. You can change one thing at a time and check it out of sample. See [Backtests](https://docs.traderos.ai/strategies/backtests.md).

> **What are GEX levels?**
>
> GEX is dealer gamma exposure, built from options positioning. TraderOS shows the walls, the gamma flip and the regime for a ticker, with the time of the data. See [Markets](https://docs.traderos.ai/markets/market-intel.md).

> **How is it priced?**
>
> Work the Agent does for you is priced in credits, and a priced action shows its cost before it runs. See [Credits](https://docs.traderos.ai/account/credits.md).

> **Can I use my own AI assistant with it?**
>
> Yes. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and any assistant that supports MCP can read TraderOS data through your own account. See [Connect your own AI assistant](https://docs.traderos.ai/connect/mcp.md).
