# Usage and billing

> How your plan's included usage works, how to read the meter, what happens at a limit, and how paid usage, top-ups and refunds work.

Your plan includes a set amount of Agent usage that refreshes on a schedule. You see it as a percentage left, with the time it resets. You never see a dollar figure for usage.

## What your plan includes

| Plan | Price | Notes |
| - | - | - |
| Trader | $47 a month or $497 a year | Included usage on a daily and a weekly window |
| Elite | Coming with TraderOS 1 Pro | Not on sale yet |

Prices as of 4 November 2026. Annual plans get the same included usage as monthly plans.

These are always included and never use your allowance:

* Journal and memory
* Studies
* GEX levels
* Screeners
* Market data
* Your first Session Plan and your first Session Review each trading day

## Windows and resets

Included usage comes in windows. Every window follows the New York calendar:

* **Daily window:** resets every day at 00:00 ET.
* **Weekly window:** resets every Saturday at 00:00 ET.

A piece of work must fit inside both windows. Days around a clock change can be 23 or 25 hours long, so always read the reset time shown on the meter rather than counting hours. Unused usage does not roll over to the next window.

## Read the meter

The meter chip in the message box shows how much allowance you have left, for example "68% left". Open it to see:

* one bar per window, with the percent left and the time it resets;
* your paid usage, if you turned it on;
* what a typical piece of work uses, as a share of your week;
* a link to **Usage and billing**.

### Warnings

You get one warning per window as you pass 75, 90 and 95 percent used. The daily window also warns at 50 percent. At 90 percent the warning offers slow mode.

### Before expensive work

For Deep Research and any run larger than a tenth of what you have left, the confirmation card shows an estimate and a ceiling, for example "about 6% of this week, up to 10%". The final amount never goes above the ceiling shown. Fixed-price work such as a backtest shows its fixed share of the week.

### After each answer

A line under the answer reads "Used 2% of this week". Choose **Details** to see each step's share. Data reads show as included. Usage details open under the answer and are not saved as an artifact.

## What happens at a limit

When a window runs out, the Agent finishes the step it is on. It never cuts an answer off silently. Then it pauses with your options:

* **Use paid usage**, or set it up if it is off.
* **Slow mode.** A lighter model and shorter answers, from a separate slow-mode allowance.
* **Wait** for the reset. The card shows the reset time and you can resume then.
* **Upgrade** for more room.

Your work so far is saved. **Resume** continues the same answer. A limit is never a dead end.

## Paid usage

Paid usage lets you keep working after your included usage runs out.

* It is **off by default**.
* It is **prepaid**. You are never billed after the fact.
* Turning it on needs a **monthly cap**, counted per calendar month in New York time. Paid usage never goes past the cap.
* The Agent **asks before the first paid spend in each session**, unless you set a standing approval.
* **Unattended work never spends paid usage** unless you set a budget for that automation. If a scheduled plan hits a limit, you get what is ready, marked as partial, and tomorrow's run is not affected.
* Your paid balance is shown as a share of a week, not in dollars.

## Top-ups

In **Usage and billing**, buy a top-up. The minimum is \$10. Purchased usage does not expire while you are subscribed. You can also turn on auto top-up, which refills your paid usage when it runs low and never goes past your monthly cap. Turning it on asks for your agreement first.

## What a run costs when something goes wrong

* If the Agent fails and delivers nothing, you are not charged and nothing counts against your allowance.
* If you press Stop, you pay only for what was used up to that point, and the partial result is kept and labeled.
* If a request retries, only the attempt that succeeded counts.
* If you regenerate an answer, that is new usage.

## Using TraderOS from an MCP client

Work you run from an MCP client uses the same included usage and windows as the Agent.

* **A retry is not charged twice.** If your client sends an idempotency key with a call, repeating the call with the same key returns the first result and costs nothing more. The same key with different details is refused without running or charging anything. Send a new key to run the call again.
* **No key?** Two identical priced calls within two minutes count as one. To run the same thing twice on purpose, send a key for each.
* **Ask for your usage** in your client, for example "how much of my week have I used?". You get the same percentages as the meter.

## Usage and billing page

Open **Settings**, then **Usage and billing**. It shows your plan and renewal, your window bars, paid usage on or off with its monthly cap, your paid balance, top-ups and auto top-up, alerts at 50, 75 and 90 percent of your monthly cap, your policy for unattended work, and your usage history by action.

## Renewals, changes and notices

* At checkout you see a clear auto-renewal notice. You agree to it before you pay.
* You can cancel online.
* You get a reminder 30 days before each annual renewal, and a yearly reminder if you pay monthly.
* We give 30 days' notice before any change to your included usage or rates.

## Cancel, refunds and withdrawal

* **Cancelling keeps your purchased usage.** It stays available for 12 months in a prepaid-only state. For customers in the EU it does not expire.
* **EU customers** can withdraw within 14 days of buying. You get a refund of the unused part, pro rata. Use **Withdraw** in **Usage and billing**.
