# Data coverage and freshness

> What data TraderOS holds, how much of it, since when, and how it is labelled.

TraderOS answers from market data it stores, not from the web at the moment you ask. This page says what is held. Figures are as of **26 October 2026**; ask the Agent `what do you cover for XYZ?` for the live position of any ticker.

## At a glance

| | Stocks and ETFs | CME futures |
| - | - | - |
| Symbols with price history | 1,050 | 26 |
| Symbols with an options chain | 165 | 23 |
| Symbols with GEX levels | 1,044 | 23 |
| Daily bars | from 2003 for 529 symbols across all markets; 765 symbols reach back to 2016 or earlier | from 2016, later for the micro contracts |
| 1-minute bars | from 2016 for about 80 stocks, from 2026 for the rest while history is deepened | from January 2016, later for the micro contracts |

> [!NOTE]
>
> The longest daily history is on the most heavily traded names. A ticker added this year has history from the day it was added. The Agent states the window it used on every result, so you always see how far back a test reached.

## The futures we hold

6A, 6B, 6C, 6E, 6J, 6S (currency futures), CL, NG (energy), GC, SI, HG (metals), ES, NQ, RTY, YM and their micros MES, MNQ, M2K, MYM, ZB, ZF, ZN, ZT (rates), ZC, ZW (grains) and VX (volatility).

The micro contracts start where their own history begins, so a backtest on them reaches back less far than on the full-size contract: MNQ from May 2019, MYM from January 2020, MES from January 2023 and M2K from January 2026. The Agent states the window it used on every result.

Futures are a **continuous contract that follows the most active month**, so a chart does not break at each expiry. Prices are the raw contract prices: a position held across a roll books the roll step as profit or loss, and a backtest says so when it happens.

## Resolutions

1-minute bars are the base. 5-minute, 15-minute, 1-hour, 4-hour and daily bars are built from them, so a coarser chart always agrees with the minute data under it.

## Not covered yet

If a ticker is not covered, the Agent says so, names the closest thing it does hold, and can start a request to add it. It never answers with the numbers of a different instrument.

## How fresh is it?

Every figure carries three things:

* **Source**: the kind of data it comes from (for example daily bars, GEX levels or options flow).
* **As-of time**, in New York time.
* **Age when it was captured**, for example `2 days old when captured`.

During market hours, 1-minute bars trail the market by a few minutes. When something is delayed, stale or only partly available, the answer and the card say so instead of presenting it as live. See [All datasets](https://docs.traderos.ai/data/datasets.md) for the update rhythm of each one.

## Observed and inferred

A trade on the tape (price, size, time, contract) is **observed**. A label such as bullish or bearish on a trade is an **inference** from the price against the quote and is never a fact about who traded or why. TraderOS keeps the two apart.

## What we calculate ourselves

GEX levels, the gamma flip and the volatility surfaces are calculated by TraderOS from the options chain, and each result states the snapshot it was calculated from.
