# The data dictionary

> Every dataset we hold, how often it updates and how far back it goes, plus the tickers you can use.

The data dictionary is a page inside the app that lists what data sits behind TraderOS. Open it from the sidebar or your account menu: choose **Data dictionary**. You need to be signed in.

## Datasets

Datasets are grouped by area, such as prices, options and positioning, and fundamentals and events. Each row says:

| Column | What it tells you |
| - | - |
| **Dataset** | The name of the data, for example `Options flow` or `Gamma exposure (GEX)`. |
| **What it is** | A plain description of what the data contains. |
| **Updated** | How often it refreshes, for example live, every 15 minutes or daily. |
| **From** | Where our stored history begins. A symbol listed later starts on its first day. |
| **History** | How far back that reaches, in plain words, for example `last 10 years` or `last 9 months`. Whole years are rounded down, so the page never claims more history than we hold. A dash means the page has no start date to measure from. |
| **Made by** | Whether the data is licensed market data, public filings and releases, or calculated by TraderOS. |

The **Not covered yet** box at the bottom lists what we do not carry, so you do not find out by trying.

## Tickers and options data

The second table lists every ticker open to everyone and which of its data is available. **Options chains**, **GEX**, **Options flow** and **Earnings** show `Yes` once that data is open for the ticker, and a dash when it is not. **Prices from** is the first day of stored prices.

* **Search tickers** narrows the list by ticker, company name or exchange. The search box at the top of the page filters both tables at once.
* **All types** lets you show one kind of ticker, such as stocks or futures.
* The table shows 25 tickers a page. Use **Previous** and **Next** to move between pages. Changing a search or the type goes back to page one.

You can also ask the Agent `which tickers do you cover?` or `do you have data for XYZ?` for the current answer. See [Data coverage and freshness](https://docs.traderos.ai/data/coverage.md).

> [!NOTE]
>
> The dictionary is read from the data itself, so a new ticker or a longer history appears on the page without any announcement.
