# Lessons, notes and strategies

> What the Journal proposes to remember, how you confirm it, and how notes and saved strategies are kept.

## Lessons: what the Journal remembers

The Journal does not turn everything you do into permanent knowledge. The Agent proposes **lessons** from your trades, recaps and weekly reviews, and you decide what stays.

* **Proposed.** A lesson appears with its evidence: the trades behind it, win rate, average R, profit factor and rules kept.
* **Confirm, edit or dismiss.** A proposal changes nothing until you confirm it. You can edit the wording first. A dismissed lesson is kept under **Dismissed**.
* **Confirmed lessons go into Agent memory.** The Agent can then use them in your plans and answers where they are relevant.
* **Undo.** You can revoke a confirmed lesson, which removes it from the Agent's memory, and restore it later.
* **Ask about your trades.** Choose **Ask Agent about your trades** to start a chat about your patterns.

Memory has its own settings. In **Settings**, **Memory** has **Use my memory in answers** and **Learn from my chats**, and you can ask the Agent what it remembers or to forget something. See [Your data](https://docs.traderos.ai/account/your-data.md#memory).

Incognito chats are never remembered. Nothing from an incognito chat is added to your memory.

## Notebook

The **Notebook** holds your notes and the strategies you saved in the Agent.

* **Notebooks and tags.** Sort notes into notebooks and tag them. Notes without a notebook are **Unfiled**. Filter by account, and search titles, notes, symbols and tags.
* **Day notes.** Each day has its own note.
* **Templates.** Start a note from a template, or make your own with prompts. A **Session recap** template makes one recap per account and day.
* **Link trades.** Link a note to the trades it is about.
* **Trash.** A deleted note goes to **Trash**, read-only. Restore it, or choose **Delete forever** to remove it and its files for good. Trades linked to a note are not removed with it.

## Strategies

Strategies you save in the Agent appear in the Notebook. Saving a strategy never creates a trade.

For each strategy, the Journal shows:

* **Performance:** your results on trades linked to it, including how rule-breaking trades did.
* **Rules:** how often you kept each rule.
* **Linked trades:** the trades you tied to it.
* **Passed setups**, excluded from profit and loss and win rate.

A strategy is archived, not trashed. **Archive** hides it from the list. The Agent strategy and its linked trades are unchanged. **Restore from Archive** brings it back, to **Unfiled** if its notebook was deleted.

The Agent can see which strategies you archived or restored and how they did, so it knows what you tried and dropped. That record is not deleted when you archive or restore the strategy. It is removed when you erase your memory.

## Connect it all

Your [Journal](https://docs.traderos.ai/journal/overview.md) is the record, your [Agent](https://docs.traderos.ai/agent/ask-the-agent.md) reads it when you ask, and your [strategies](https://docs.traderos.ai/strategies/backtests.md) come from backtests you run there.
