# Troubleshooting and FAQ

> What to do when an answer is missing, late, or does not match another platform.

## A ticker has no data

Ask the Agent `do you have data for XYZ?`. If it is not covered, the Agent says so, names the closest thing it does hold and can start a request to add it. It never answers with another instrument's numbers. See [Data coverage](https://docs.traderos.ai/data/coverage.md).

## An answer looks old

Every figure shows its **as-of time** and **age**. During market hours 1-minute bars trail the market by a few minutes, and some datasets update less often (see [All datasets](https://docs.traderos.ai/data/datasets.md)). If a number is stale the card says so; ask the Agent `what is the newest data you have for this?`.

## My backtest did not finish

The Agent tells you what stopped it, in plain words, and whether it is safe to run again. Two common causes:

* **A rule it could not apply exactly.** For example a stop tied to a level that has no price on some bars. Give a number or a level that always exists, such as a fixed number of points, a multiple of ATR, or the far side of the value area.
* **A very long window on a 1-minute chart.** Shorten the window, or use a 5-minute chart.

## My backtest does not match TradingView

Small differences are normal. Check these first:

* **Futures prices.** TraderOS uses the raw continuous contract. A position held across a contract roll books the roll step as profit or loss, and the result says so.
* **Session times.** A session is dated in New York time. See [Sessions and hours](https://docs.traderos.ai/data/sessions.md).
* **Costs.** TraderOS includes commission and slippage and shows them separately from the gross result.

Ask the Agent `why does this differ from my chart?` with the date and the trade you are comparing.

## The result says the sample is too small

Fewer trades than a fair judgement needs. The Agent will not call it an edge. Widen the window, trade a faster timeframe or loosen a filter, and run it again.

## What does it cost?

A chat answer is 1 credit, a report 1 credit and a backtest 5 credits. The price of any action is shown before it runs. See [Credits](https://docs.traderos.ai/account/credits.md).

## Does TraderOS place trades?

No. It never places orders and has no access to your broker account. See [How TraderOS handles trust](https://docs.traderos.ai/trust.md).

## My AI assistant will not connect

See [Connect your own AI assistant](https://docs.traderos.ai/connect/mcp.md).
